Here's the initial list with updates and comments:Ĭollege Slam (EEPROM) - The rom version "College Slam (4) " works 100% fine.ĭuke Nukem 3D - Save function still does not work with the PCB v2.4 and OS v24. There's a site where all these versions can be obtained easily, just Google it! Tip: You just have to look for the right set of roms. Last OS have support for 32K saves but I don't know if you need new firmware/board revision. ![]() I do not know if ED gives full 32KB for a game or not. The problem is more likely related to the fact that it needs 32KB of SRAM, most games only need 8KB. NBA Jam (and other games) will try to write and read back internal memory on startup and lock if memory test fails. If you have the real cartridge, there shouldn't be any issue, only when using ROM with emulator-based hardware or flashcarts.Īnother possibility is that DS-16 cart connector is missing some signals and cannot write to the cart (i.e saves are not working). I don't think so, EEPROM is accessed differently than normal SRAM but the difference is handled by the cartridge, from console hardware's point of view it's still common data read/write. I'll have to see if I have any other EEPROM carts to test in it. ![]() I wonder if the reason I can't play NBA Jam my DS-16 is due to it not liking EEPROM carts. Some sport games from EA (can't remember the name) which are using 16-bit SRAM access are also not saving properly with MD Everdrive. Wow.:?ĭuke Nukem 3D (AFAIK it was battery save, but.) This game is hard as hell and without saves. ![]() Maybe someone could post links for IPS patches that enables one to use it on Everdrive (I do not know if it's illegal to provide links to IPS patches, IF IT IS ILLEGAL IGNORE THIS LAST STATEMENT)īut I think it's time to map this situation. I know that some of these games above had been hacked or had an sram version (Megaman), but I would like to include marks on the list of these "workarounds" too.
